I’m 37 – is it worth keeping private medical insurance?

I’ve only ever used it once, and I’m thinking of ditching it until I’m in my 50s

I′m 37 and have been in my company private medical insurance scheme for five years. I didn′t realise just how much it was costing me (in benefit in kind deductions, plus the extra I pay for my wife to be a member) considering I have only ever used it once, for some physio. Realistically are people my age wasting money on this? Should I ditch it and rejoin when I′m in my 50s?
